Influence of the Suzuki Method on children

Shinichi Suzuki - outstanding teacher, founder of the Mother Tongue Method, believed that all human beings are endowed with a talent that has to be only develop in the right way. Following this idea, each child has capability to learn a musical instrument as it has capability to learn its mother tongue through imitation its parents.

The Suzuki Method is a very successful method that teaches very young children (from the age of 2) how to play a musical instrument by exposing them to the music through audio CDs and guiding their fingers on the instrument. The Suzuki Method has been successfully used throughout the World for many years.

Parents whose child learn to play a violin (or any other musical instrument) broaden not only their musical skills but also their other inborn talents. Child who is exposed to learn a violin from a very young age reinforce its manual skills, attention span, memory and logic. The method encourages working in groups and systematic practise. Finally, all these factors help to foster excellent character in every student who becomes more confident and tender for encompassing World.

The most important factor which parents have to consider in the Suzuki learning approach is that a child does not learn a violin in order to become a great and famous musician. The primary goal for learning music is to raise children who are not only good in playing music but also create generation of children who will become better and more sensible people.

We teach children who happened to want to learn a violin so much that eventually parents agreed to enroll them for violin classes. These children love playing the instrument, many of them play the violin every day for hours and just because they enjoy it so much. Surprising thing is that not all of them want to become a real violinist. Some of them like lots of other children would like to be hair stylists, police officers or teachers...

The only difference between them is that Suzuki children chose different approach to achieve those things that everyone dreams of.
